Parents compare babies to their ultrasound pics

Does your little one look like their ultrasound photo? I never thought my kids did much, but technology has come such a long way in recent years that parents are now comparing side-by-side shots of their babies before and after birth.

Take a look at some of the photos our BabyCenter Community members sent in for the Ultrasound and Newborn Photo Contest:

I’m so impressed! Rest assured, I do understand the concept of an ultrasound — it is the baby’s image being captured — and yet I’m amazed at how much the pictures look like the actual babies. My mind simply refuses to bend around this concept.

I’m also a bit envious. The ultrasound pictures I have of my boys, who are now 9 and 10, are of the old-school, grainy variety. 3-D imagery was just becoming a thing during my pregnancies, and not yet used by my doctor. I considered paying a private facility to sneak a glimpse at my little one’s developing features, but the truth is we just couldn’t afford it.

Tell me, new moms and moms-to-be, was a 3-D image at your ultrasound standard or did you have to go out of your way to get it? How about 4-D and HD?

If you’ve given birth, can you as easily see the resemblance as these photos show? Share with us in a comment below!
