  • Will reach for a toy with one hand

Social and Emotional:

  • Baby will be more active in getting your attention

Speech and Language:

  • Laughs aloud
  • Babbles with expression and tries to copy sounds he hears
  • Will begin using many vowel sounds
  • Will vocalize when playing by herself
  • Explores high and low pitched sounds by squealing


Fine Motor:

  • Can reach and grab for things
  • Can play with hands together
  • Likes to put all kinds of things in mouth as a manner of exploration

Gross Motor:

  • Sits with support
  • Holds head steady unsupported
  • Pushes down on legs when feet are on a hard surface
  • May be able to roll over from tummy to back
  • When lying on stomach pushes up to elbows
